Experience History
At the foothills of the Walpersberg near Kahla, the Nazi regime built one of the largest underground armament complexes of the Second World War. Thousands of forced laborers were compelled to dig tunnels, erect bunkers, and produce the Messerschmitt Me 262.As the History and Research Association Walpersberg e.V. we uncover this hidden past – on these pages and through guided tours across the former military site.

Our Association
For more than 20 years our association has been dedicated to researching and preserving the history of the former underground armaments plant at Walpersberg. All members work voluntarily and with great passion. Tasks range from historical research, publications and guided tours to building the exhibition and maintaining the extensive association grounds. Every helping hand is welcome – there are many ways to get involved.
